Wildwood Crest 5K Beach Race The Wildwood Crest Recreation Department will host the 5K Beach Run at 8:45 a.m. (rain or shine.) The run will begin and end at the edge of the Wildwood Crest Beach Pier on the beach at Heather Road. The run will be held on an out-and-back all-beach course. The event also includes a one-mile fun run/walk. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers in categorized age groups. All pre-registered competitors will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt. Race-day registrants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt as supplies last. Refreshments will be available following the completion of the races. Registration fees are $15 for the 5K run and $10 for the one-mile fun run if registered by August 1. Fees are $20 and $15 after August 1. Race-day registration will be held at the Crest Pier Recreation Center at Heather Road and Ocean Avenue at 7 a.m. Registration forms are available online at http://www.wildwoodcrest.org/dept_recreation.htm. Line-up begins at 5:30 p.m., parade steps off at 6 p.m. SHARP and proceeds up the Wildwoods Boardwalk to 16th Street, North Wildwood.
